Deuteronomy 10:12-13
“Now, people of Israel, listen to what the Lord your God demands of you: Worship the Lord and do all that he commands. Love him, serve him with all your heart, and obey all his laws.”
We are looking at some of God’s universal laws. Various authors have determined different numbers of God’s laws. There have been 12 laws, one author offers 23 laws, and still another author gives us 52 immutable laws of God.
As I frequently teach, we are made in God’s image; we are spiritual beings having this human experience and God speaks to us in a spiritual manner. He has written His laws, his words, His commands on our hearts. This means that we understand them from within, from prayer, meditation, and connection with Spirit.
We humans have tried to identify them and write them down, at least as many as we can discern. But that is the catch: the human language is a poor means of communicating God’s concepts. We do our best, but God can be subtle, nuanced, difficult to understand. At other times God can be blunt: Love each other. But even when we take that simple command into prayer, we start to understand the depth and complexity of that command.
It is so with all of God’s laws. They can be simple, yet deep, mysterious, multi-layered, and interwoven with other commands. Take for instance the Law of Vibration. This law states that everything vibrates. All matter is made up of atoms and subatomic particles that are constantly in motion, even in objects that appear perfectly still. God created all things with purpose, rhythm, and movement. Genesis 1:25 reminds us that “God made the beast of the earth after his kind… and God saw that it was good.”
Everything – our thoughts, our words, our emotions—carries a frequency, moving us closer to or further from God’s purpose for us. Proverbs 23:7 states, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” The vibration of our inner life shapes the outer. When we fill our spirits with hope, gratitude, and love, we attune ourselves to the divine frequency of Christ – God’s highest good for us.
However, it is outside the purview of science to state that love or thoughts vibrate. Like God and the potency of prayer, this lies within the arena of faith, unmeasurable by science. Regardless, of science’s limitations, those of us attuned to Spirit know God, know the power of prayer, and have seen the dynamic results of thought, love, and the effects their vibrations have on people and situations.
The Bible uses the phrases, “the condition of your heart” to describe our inner vibration, what our spirit holds as truth. Jeremiah 17:10 says, “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” Although we seek and ask for Gods good, if our inner being is fraught with doubt, fear, or unworthiness, we inadvertently sow seeds that cannot bare the fruit we want.
Jesus describes this in the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:3-9. Our seeds, our prayers, our desires yield differently depending on the condition of the ground. If our soil is rocky, or filled with thorns, it will not bear well. But the thought seeds that fall on good soil produce a harvest, 30, 60, or even 100 times what was sown.
In Romans 12:2 Paul tells us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This transformation comes from the renewal of our innermost beliefs, not just from mere repetition of desires, or verses, or hallow declarations. Romans 10:10 tells us, “For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”
The Law of Vibration shows that everything – physical objects, thoughts, feelings – is in a state of movement and emits a frequency. We can raise our own vibration by consciously choosing actions, thoughts, and self-care practices that align with higher states like love, joy, peace, and abundance.
The frequency of our thoughts transmits a signal to Spirit and in return Spirit reflects that frequency back to us as comparable physical, emotional, and spiritual substance. This is called the Law of Attraction. Most of us have heard of that law. Jesus affirms this truth in Mark 11:24: “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Prayer, belief, and spiritual expectation set in motion God’s promise to answer. Our hearts must vibrate with trust, not doubt.
We are always bringing into our life objects, people, and circumstances that are aligned with our current beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and desires. This creating of reality, or manifesting, as it is often called, can happen unconsciously or consciously.
If we do not consciously choose our thoughts, make intentional choices about our experience, set clear intentions, visualize what we desire, and believe it is already possible or accomplished, then we will experience a random result based on default beliefs, assumptions, and emotional habits that operate below the level of consciousness. We are always attracting to us our emotional environment, challenges, joys, and even our habits are all manifestations – reflections of inner beliefs and habitual emotional states we may not notice.
If our underlying beliefs are rooted in fear, lack, or limitation, unconscious manifestation can result in outcomes that feel unsatisfying, difficult, and disconnected from our true desires. For example, someone who unconsciously assumes they are undeserving of love may find themselves in unsupportive relationships, while someone who feels constant anxiety about finances may experience continued financial struggles.
Our focus shapes our life. Our thoughts, beliefs, and energy act like magnets, drawing in experiences that match our internal focus. If we give consistent attention, positive or negative, to something, we will see more of it appear in our life. The Law of Attraction is deeply connected with the Law of Vibration.
To create change we want to see in life, there is one more law to consider – the Law of Inspired Action. We know this; it is written on our hearts. Simply focusing or visualizing is not enough; we must also take action based on our intentions and be open to opportunities that come our way. More than just being open to God’s good coming toward us, we must expect it, welcome it, and move towards it. Inspired action feels natural; it comes from listening to our heart or intuition, and often feels exciting or guided, while forced action is driven by pressure or obligation and doesn’t yield the same transformative results.
James 2:17 says, “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” When our actions are aligned with Spirit’s guidance, we partner with God to bring heaven’s purposes to earth. Inspired action arises when we connect with our intuition and inner truth, cultivate self-awareness and trust our “inner voice.”
Change starts with altering our internal defaults or belief paradigm. When we believe in new possibilities and envision a more positive future, opportunities and inspired actions begin to appear. Let us get comfortable with the feeling of already having what we desire and then being open to actions and synchronicities that move us forward, rather than waiting idly. Inspired action often means taking steps even if we do not have the entire path mapped out and doing things that align with our deepest intentions and dreams.
These three laws – the Law of Vibration, the Law of Attraction, and the Law of Inspired Action – work together to turn God’s dreams for us into reality and tangible results. They are how we co-create with God in creating the magnificent life that God put us here to enjoy, a life of full of blessing, service, and the joy found only in His purpose.
